It may seem like an insignificant thing, but a good dustpan is worth the money.Many years ago when I first moved out on my own, I purchased a Rubbermaid Heavy Duty Dustpan of this nature.Made of a heavy duty flexible plastic that sat heavy and flat on the floor, this dustpan seemed indestructible.After decades of use, it finally fell apart and was tossed when we moved.I made the mistake of purchasing a cheap dustpan at that time.It bowed up in the center which left a small puddle of dust every time I used it, and it fell apart in just over a year.This time, I went searching for the dustpan I used to have and was pleased to find it offered here for about the same price I paid before, so many years ago.However, although they had the same name, the dustpan I was shipped was not the same as the dustpan I purchased all those years ago.This dustpan, while also a heavy duty plastic, is hard and brittle, the kind of plastic that breaks if it drops on an edge, and it has mold ridges along the sweeping edge, which leave a line of dust when sweeping.When this one falls apart, I won't be buying my dustpan without holding it in my hands again.
