I was excited to find these charcoals as they are less than half the size of the standard, self-lighting charcoal.They stay lit for 20-30 minutes which is plenty of time for many smudging tasks.It is true, that because they are not self-lighting, it takes a little longer to light them.The positive side of this, though, is there isn't the nasty-smelling chemical release of the self-lighting charcoals.Though I still long for the plant-based incense burners of Tibet that I occasionally find, this is the next best thing so far.Recommended.
